NEW DELHI: Zee Entertainment which had pulled out all its content from Mukesh Ambani owned Reliance Jio may soon be making its content available on Jio’s over the top (OTT) platform Jio again, according to a report DNA India.
The report quoting sources said that ZEE management is in advanced negotiations with Reliance Jio to restart the service on Jio TV mobile application which allows users to watch live TV channels.
“Both parties are in advanced discussions to arrive at an amicable solution and an outcome will be achieved in the next 2-3 days,” said sources mentioned in the report.
ZEE had earlier removed its content from Jio TV including 35 live TV channels and more than 2 lakh hours of video-on-demand content after failing to arrive at an agreement on price.
The entertainment company later entered into a 3-year multi-layered partnership with telecom major Bharti Airtel within a week of removing all its content from Jio TV.
As part of the strategic partnership, Airtel and Zee has tied up to work closely on creating exclusive video content for Airtel’s video-on-demand app Airtel TV and ZEE’s over-the-top (OTT) app ZEE5.
